Scholarship program “Museum Curators for Photography” of the Krupp Foundation announced again

In cooperation with the Photographic Collection at the Museum Folkwang in Essen, the Photography Collection at the Münchner Stadtmuseum, the Fotomuseum Winterthur, the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, the Centre Georges-Pompidou in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Krupp Foundation is awarding three scholarships for future museum curators in the field of photography!

During the course of the scholarship program, the scholarship holders have the opportunity to receive museum-specific training for six months at each of the three museums in Germany and Switzerland as well as one of the three institutions abroad and to work on at least one exhibition project or research project on photography. In addition, opportunities are offered at all training locations to get to know the museum and academic environment of the field of photography. The programme also includes the independent organization and realization of a symposium on special issues of photography. The scholarship is endowed with around €60,000. The deadline for applications is January 9, 2025.

The Krupp Foundation launched the “Museum Curators for Photography” scholarship program in 1999. Every two years, three scholarship holders receive two years of museum-specific training and the opportunity to get to know the museum and academic environment of the field of photography. With this program, the foundation aims to sustainably promote the next generation of curators in the field of photography and give new impetus to the training of museum curators.
