“Archives in the Digital Age” – lecture by Dr. Frank M. Bischoff at the Villa Hügel on 19 November

On 19 November 2024 at 7 p.m., Dr. Frank M. Bischoff, President of the State Archives of North Rhine-Westphalia, will give a lecture entitled “Archives in the Digital Age – Left Behind or in the Fast Lane?” Bischoff will examine the role and significance of archives in today’s digitalised world. He will address both the challenges as well as the opportunities offered by new technologies and innovative access strategies. He will also provide insights into the strategies that archives can pursue in order to continue to play a central role in the preservation of cultural heritage in the future. The Foundation, as the owner of the Krupp Historical Archive, the oldest business archive in Germany, is concluding this year’s lecture series with this event. The free lecture will take place at Villa Hügel. Prior registration is required.
