The Thomas Mann House in Los Angeles is offering fellowships for the year 2026

The Thomas Mann House Fellowships have been announced once again. Committed individuals who contribute to social debates and transformation processes as thought leaders, academics from all disciplines, creatives or innovators can apply until 13 February 2025. Applications are open to people who currently live in Germany or have lived there in the last ten years. German citizens living abroad are also welcome to apply. The theme for 2026 is ‘In Search of a Common Cause’. The Krupp Foundation supports the programme by funding two of the Junior Fellowships.

The Thomas Mann House in Los Angeles sees itself as a transatlantic place of dialogue where outstanding personalities and thought leaders discuss key political, social and cultural issues of the present and future together with the host country, the USA.

As a residence of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Thomas Mann House is committed to the spirit of Thomas Mann with its interdisciplinary programme: During his time in the USA, the writer dealt intensively with the roots of fascism, democratic renewal, freedom, migration and exile in his literary works as well as in lectures and essays.

The application deadline is 13 February 2025.
