Krupp Foundation supports the construction of a new child protection centre in Essen

Vulnerable children in Germany are not receiving the protection they urgently need. In Essen too, the situation of children in need of protection is becoming increasingly precarious. This is why the Essen Child Protection Association (Kinderschutzbund Essen) has taken the initiative and started building a new child protection centre that will be available to children from all over Germany. The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is supporting the new building project, which has thus taken a major step forward. As an initial major sponsorship, the foundation is covering the construction costs as well as the initial equipment for a complete children’s room and thus also a four-year sponsorship for the accommodated child. The project, which extends the existing two shelters, is under the patronage of Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen. The investment volume for the construction, furnishing and design of the outdoor area amounts to 4.5 million euros, which the child protection organisation must finance from its own funds. Further sponsoring institutions and donors are therefore being sought.
