Strong in saying no: Krupp Foundation supports prevention project at ten primary schools in Essen
With the support of the Krupp Foundation, around 1,000 pupils in first and second grade at ten primary schools in Essen received the book “Lisa entdeckt die Welt” (‘Lisa discovers the world’) and “Paul entdeckt die Welt” (‘Paul discovers the world’) as well as age-appropriate learning materials. The central concern of the non-profit organisation aktionkinderschutz e. V., which developed the book, is to strengthen children at an early age – especially in recognising their own boundaries and being able to say ‘no’. Teachers and parents are specifically supported in their prevention work by the specially developed teaching material. The Krupp Foundation has sponsored the project with 12,000 euros.
The programme reached the following ten primary schools in Essen:
- Kraichenbruch primary school
- Primary school on Jacobsallee
- Cranach School
- Bodelschwingh School
- Laurentius School
- Josef School
- Dürer School
- Burgaltendorf Primary School
- Nikolaus School
- School at the water tower
